blast from the past

When I was in Jr. High...and maybe highschool, I was a big fan of the band They Might Be Giants.
In fact, I went to TWO of their concerts with some friends (you know who you are)...and although I still think their music is quite enjoyable...and quirky, I haven't done a lot of listening to them.

Well, Morg found out they were coming to SLC again and that they would be doing the entire Flood album (the best one fore sure), and thought I might enjoy reliving my 9th grade adventures. The concert was last night...and I must say, it was really fun. The venue was full of the biggest geeks, dweebs, and nerds you've ever seen (what does that say about me?), but those are the fans of They Might Be Giants!

I found out that they are now doing childrens music, and just released a new childrens album...hmmm, maybe I can get Gwen and Laine to be big nerds too.

We took a picture of us on Morgs phone, but now can't find the thingy needed to upload to the computer. If I find it, you'll be seeing that picture right about:

Here's the thing about that band, my freshman year of college I had this insane roommate, and by insane I mean sleep on the couch in the nude with only a blanket wrapped around her and sometimes that blanket would slip and uh-uh scar my retinas-anyways, she loved that band, that stupid stupid band, and it made me want to kill myself.

But I'm sure they're awesome, I just have nudey insane roommate flashbacks when I hear it. No offense.

yeah, I'm pretty sure I was with you one of those times- and the dayton boys and andy and while we thought we were really cool, we were probably really nerdy! I've heard their children's album is great, I'll have to check it out. glad you had run reliving the good 'ol days!

Why were we so into them???? I mean, yes, they are fun, but we thought they were the best. :) I love that you went to another concert. I think my last concert was in high school and I would LOVE to go to another one.

That was my first concert. And I think maybe my second. I hope I made it to something else before there was a third. What a blast. I hope you squeezed through the riotous pit to have your ribcage crushed against the barricade in the front. Because if not, you really missed out!

They played a concert for the kids in the park in NY and it was the biggest event of the summer... for nerds.
