binge and purge

***I've included pictures of some of the pieces on me (by request). The pictures aren't very good. My husband Morgan took the pictures and he was being so picky on how I had my had positioned. He kept calling my hand a "meat hand" whatever that means. He wanted my hand placed just right, and if you ask me, the pictures are goofy. Whatever, he's a funny one. If the photos don't help, let me know, and I'll try to do better.

So, I've gotten into de-clutter mode and I'm getting rid of my Tres Jolie jewelry. I got so much while I was working there, and I just don't wear it. I never have. As you can see, there are a few pieces that still have the tags on them. I don't know what possessed me to buy all of this stuff. I don't wear jewelry. I don't even wear earrings that often anymore. So, I'm putting it all on ebay, or craigslist. But, I thought I'd give my friends and people that happen upon my blog first dibs. I know there are a few of you out there that are fans. This stuff is sort of a random collection and weird stuff too. Don't worry, I won't be offended if no one is interested, I just don't want it anymore. The thought of the dinero that went into buying this stuff makes me nuts. This stuff normally sells at Nordstrom for hundreds of dollars a piece, I didn't pay hundreds, because I worked for them and got a deal, but I spent a pretty penny for the whole "collection." Just email me if you are interested or have questions: mckellestanley@hotmail.com

padditudes

So, I think I'm going to start posting weird things that I find on Etsy. So, here is the first weird etsy find. I know you're all going to love it, and want to order many right away.

PINK SWIRLS PADDITUDES Panty Liner Sanitary Pad Napkin Pantyliners Light Days

That's right folks, reusable, washable pantyliners.
Here is the description on etsy:

Why settle for boring white disposable panty liners, when you can make things a bit brighter with this handmade fabric panty liner? It's a pad with attitude ... I call them PADDITUDES! :-)

Fabric pads and liners are more environmentally friendly, and can be easily washed along with your regular laundry. The link below gives more information on rinsing, soaking (if necessary), and washing them.

The panty liner is made with 5 layers of prewashed 100% cotton fabric, a layer of organic cotton batting, and a layer of 100% cotton flannel ... more layers than most panty liners, yet it's very light and breathable! The top is quilted/top-stitched for extra durability, and is
non-bulky.

The panty liner measures approximately 7-7/8" long by about 3" wide at the wide part of the "hourglass", and about 2-3/4" wide in the narrow part of the "hourglass", when snapped onto your undies. The pad is, of course, brand new, straight off my sewing machine.

Great for those lighter days! :-)

The liner can be folded and snapped so that it fits nicely into your purse (see last photo for a sample).

Yeah, I couldn't believe it when I found this random item on a search late last night (not to mention the vajayjay necklace I found. Who wants to wear one of those around your neck?). Who decided this was a good idea? Maybe it's just me. Maybe it is a good idea. Maybe you all really do love the idea of carrying these pretty babies around. The question is, can they make it to match my clothes. I'd like a zebra print one please. That's what I call a pad with attitude. Padditude...I can't wait for mine to arrive.

house guest

My cousin Sharon had this on her blog, and I couldn't help but include a picture here....just for you Jana. It looks real, but I pray to the spider gods it's not. Like Sharon said, if you woke up and saw this in the corner of your bedroom, right above your head, what would you do? I'd run like hell, and then I'd move. I'd have to abandon everything in my room 'cause there would be no way I'd go back in there, or risk giving any of those freaky babies a free ride. No way in hell. Heebie Jeebies I tell you.

I think I'm going to have to delete this blog in a while. I can't stand to look at that picture.

2 years old

Gwen has had quite the weekend. She had her pictures taken on Saturday morning (take a look here http://homepage.mac.com/annielewis/stanley/PhotoAlbum8.html). Gwen was sort of Crazy. She's 2. She wasn't about to sit and smile. Even with bribes of balloons, stickers, and candy, Gwen pretty much did what she wanted. I wondered if Gwen had cooperated enough to get any good pictures, but I think they turned out great. They totally captured Gwen as I see her with her crazy faces, crooked smile, and funny expressions. Thanks Annie!

Right after her pictures, I took her to get her first hair cut at a place called Cookie Cutters. Gwen did a great job. She sat very still as the girl cut her hair. Her hair looks a millions times thicker, and so cute in a little bob cut.
Then Saturday night we had a little birthday party for Gwen with Morgans brothers. Morgans brothers all LOVE Gwen, and all brought her great gifts that Gwen loves!

Sunday night was the Preston family party (actually, Matt and David, Morgans brothers, came too). We had pizza, opened more presents (She got a kitchen and great accessories to go with it...thanks everyone), and had cake (that I made myself) and ice cream.

Gwen had a great time. She loved singing Happy Birthday to her self and blowing out the candles, and she loved having her cousins Ava and Owen there to play with (oh, and new baby cousin Reese...although I think Gwen just wanted to attack her...in a nice way). Thanks for coming everyone!

Well today is Gwen's actual birthday. She doesn't know the difference. I can't believe she is already two years old. Seriously, these last two years have gone by so fast. She is such a big girl now. She is definitely a handful, and sometimes she drives me crazy, but she is so much fun. She makes me laugh everyday and she keeps me happy (except for when she makes me want to jump off a cliff). I wouldn't trade her for anything...except for maybe a bull dog puppy :D

Happy Birthday Gwenie!

baby reese

the proud (but unsuspecting) parents

I am a aunt...again. My little brother Rob and his wife Michelle had a baby girl on Friday, Feb 8th at like 3 in the morning. Her name is Reese and she weighed 7 pounds. Now let me tell you a little something about Michelle. She is terrified of needles. TERRIFIED. So her whole pregnancy she talked about how she wasn't going to have an epidural because she didn't want the shot. I kept telling her "yeah, thats how you feel now, but when those contractions start, you'll be screaming for the drugs." Then she found out that an IV is optional. So no IV for her. I just couldn't wait for labor to start and for her to eat her words.

But I was wrong. She had no IV, and no epidural. Crazy girl. Seriously, she's crazy. My mom was there during the labor, and she said that Michelle acts more nervous and scared around bees than she acted while in labor. The doctor even said that he'd never had a mom that didn't have an epidural do so well. I hate her. Now she just proved that I'm a big baby sissy. I hate her even more because her labor lasted all of 2 1/2 hours. No fair. I pushed that long. Good job Michelle. You are amazing! Congrats Rob! I must admit, I didn't envy them. I kept thinking back to when I was in their place. I did not like the new born phase at all! Give me a 6 month old right away. None of those wiggling, crying, pooping, spitting up, poor communincating newborns. I am NOT looking forward to that again. Maybe that's why Gwen is still an only child. Who knows, maybe she always will be.

Gwen holding baby Reese. She was fine holding her, but Gwen did not want me to hold her!

Nanny, me and Reese

{Just look at those chubby cheeks....mine, not the babys}
ps. still no spell check. forgive me for my errors. I'm not perfect you know.

miracles do happen

So, yesterday was an exciting day. A life changing day. A miracle. We got a DVR, and the internet. Yes, we didn't have a DVR. Who are we right? And we didn't have the internet either. We feel like new people. We feel....so blessed :) I swear I heard a heavenly choir of angels singing "Hallelujah, Hallelujah!" as the cable guy was hooking up the DVR. My testimony of miracles was strengthened for sure. (I might be going to hell for that comment) So, now I get to stay home and neglect Gwen by sticking her in front of the TV to watch shows I've recorded while I sit in my room and blog and stalk strangers blogs. My heart is full.

p.s. why is my spell check not working?

me toca

My cousin tagged me yet again, but since she's my cousin, I guess I'll do it. And it's a tag about husbands, so here goes. I hope you won't judge me by my answers.

What is his name? Morgan Smith Stanley (identical twin to Matt Smith Stanley)

How long have you been married? 5 years

How long did you date? Does the year we were on our missions count? If not, 5 months.

How old is he? 26 (yes, I married a youngin)

Who eats more sweets? I'll say me.

Who said I love you first? Morgan

Who is taller? Morgan is taller. He luckily met my 6 inch taller than me requirement.

Who can sing better? I'm going to say Morgan. Just ask, he'll give you a sample of some nice butt rock.

Who is smarter? Morgan. He is super smart, and a smart ass.

Who does the laundry? me

Who pays the bills? depends on the bill. He pays the credit cards. I pay the rent and utilities.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Morgan ALWAYS sleeps on the right

Who mows the lawn? Morgan mows my parents lawn. He's the summer slave at my parents house.

Who cooks dinner? Um, I do if cooking means cheese sandwiches and cereal.

Who drives? He does since we had Gwen. Before that, we faught about it.

Who is more stubborn? He is the most stubborn person alive. I try to keep the peace.

Who kissed who first? I did it. I know, I'm a hoochie. He said he wouldn't make the first move, so I sucked it up and kissed the sissy.

Who asked who out first? He asked me to meet him behind the baptismal font for a quick makeout on the mission. Just kidding. The day after I got home from my mission I got an email telling me not to get married. So, I say that counts

Who proposed? Morgan drove 20 hours to surprise me. When he walked in I thought he was his twin Matt, and was sort of a snot. I know, big surprise. Me? A snot! NO!!!

Who has more siblings? He does. He has 4 brothers. All of which are single. Any takers?

Who wears the pants? I wish I could say that I do, but I really think Morgan does.

Well wasn't that exciting.

So, do it if you think it sounds fun. It's just fun to reminisce, don't you think.
