In Morgan's ward back in MN, a man got up to bless his baby. As he was giving the blessing he said "and the name by which he shall be known is Lightning Jack....just kidding" and then went on to give the real name and finished the blessing. His wife was super mad (would you be? I'd probably be more embarrassed), grabbed the baby, and stormed out. Later in that meeting, or maybe it was the next fast Sunday, the man got up and apologized (to satisfy the wife I'm sure), but said that he believes that God has a sense of humor. Too bad his wife didn't.
True story.

of course he has a sense of humor, why else would he give us children?
he totally laughs. I think the blessing story is great! I'd have to stop myself from laughing out loud in sacrament meeting. I completely belives God has a sense of humor. not a loud, obnoxious one... but one nonetheless
we are made in his own likeness, so i imagine he must laugh at some of the same things we do.
that guy probably should have told his wife that he was going to do that first. i would have been more embarassed if i didn't know it was coming, but it sounds pretty funny that it did happen.
I think God laughs for sure. How could he not?!
However, I do think that there is a level of respect needed for sacred and/or spiritual things, and a baby blessing (in my opinion) is one of those things. I would've been upset at my husband for disrespecting the ordinance, but again that's just my personal opinion.
I would have laughed! That is funny and even more so if when he is confirmed it is the same thing, who knows, God may love Indian names! God has to find things funny, otherwise he would kill us all! I once heard that you can tell God has a sense of humor just by looking at the Duck Billed Platypus. I just think im funny and that is the trait he passed on to me!
HaHa! Funny. How could He not be laughing all the time. But I have to agree with Amberly. There is a time for laughing, but I am sure He does it with great reverence.
Uh ya...God would have to have a sense of humor or he would have gone nuts centuries ago! I think a sense of humor is a super important trait, and I am suspect of anyone that doesn't have one. Kind of like your dad Mckelle!!! hee hee
I would've been laughing so hard...not mad or embarassed...but more in love with him!
