smoked o's

My dad likes smoked oysters. He likes to get people to try them. I think he tried to get every boyfriend of mine to test them out. I don't think he really knew what he was doing promoting his daughters promiscuity and all. Oysters are an aphrodisiac after all. I think only one of my boyfriends actually liked them....the one they needed to worry most about. Morgan will eat one every now and then, but then again, he knows he's not getting any action with or without the oysters. Poor boy. Don't they make a Viagra for women? Anyway, I'm not here to talk about my low libido, I'm here to talk about Smoked Oysters...or as my dad would say...Smoked O's.

Now, I'm not a complete lover of this tiny slimy creature, but if you smother them in hot sauce, I can slam down a couple. But this is where Gwen comes in. My crazy, out of control little girl. She isn't afraid of food. She'll pretty much eat anything (remember the booger eating post, and the ant eating post?). She loves carrots, green beans, salad, mushrooms from my parents yard, berries from the bushes in our front yard (I'm sure they're poisonous) and anything that most 2 year olds wouldn't touch. And she loves herself a delicious smoked o. She'd eat the whole can if we let her. Really? Where did this girl come from? As proof I've included photos of her latest encounter with a can of smoked oysters. There are probably 9 of those suckers in a can...filled with cottonseed oil by the way. She probably ate 4 of them. She eats them without the hot sauce and cracker. Really, she's weird.

What weird things do your kids eat?

Eliot eats carpet fuzz. Does that count as food? I say, if they like it let'em eat it.

Ron wants to know how many yard mushrooms she ate before the first picture of her...he thinks she is stoned! I am shocked and a little bit revolted in your beauty. She simply makes me laugh! What a cute pup you have. Sorry I didnt get to see you last week. I really like you and miss you when I cant see you. When do you think you will be up to it? Just remember how much we all love you!

man, i hope izzy is that adventurous with her food. she's still only "eating" milk, obviously, and only from me.

i grew up eating weird, nasty stuff. i am half filipino, so it's without question. i've had pig brains, a blood stew of sorts, grilled goat, hot dog spaghetti, tripe soup, balut (fermented duck egg), bagoong (shrimp paste), and so much more. filipino cuisine is actually pretty good. they just have a lot of crazy junk that my family was not afraid of introducing.

Remember when we were on our cruise in the bahamas and we ordered escargot? Yep, I'm pretty sure I have a picture of you eating one of those.....all I remember is that they tasted like butter and were slimy going down my throat...
