blowing bubbles

Looky at what my momma and I just did. Pretty isn't it? The pattern was made by a friend of my moms (Leslie Ison) and she calles it Blowing Bubbles. My mom and I did it together. She sewed a little, then I did. It's all pieced together on the sewing machine, and then we hand quilted it. Too bad we have to give it away. A lady asked us to do it for her. She's getting her first grand daughter this month, and wanted something special to give to her, so we said we'd do it. I've decided that quilting is a secret passion of mine. I've been working on one for Gwen's eventual twin bed. I'll post pictures if it ever gets done. It has butterflies all over it. I'm not one of those perfectionist quilters (which is surprising since Morgan complains of my analness (totally not a word) in every other aspect of my life....except for cleaning, and cooking, and....well, I think it only pertains to anything creative. Morgan has hated me throughout this remodeling phase at our house...we'll make it after a little marriage counseling.), my points don't all add up, and my seams are not all straight. Leslie (the master quilter...she's amazing, she has a quilt hanging in the Winter Quarters Temple) tells me that quilting isn't perfect, and mistakes create character. I think she's just trying not to make me feel like a crappy failure of a quilter. Oh well, I love it and I love to do it.
On a side note, the other day I watched Gwen pick and eat a booger? I asked her if it was yummy. She said yes...so I asked her what it tasted like. She quickly replied "Chicken." Remember that when I was little, I said they tasted like hot dogs? So if any of you were curious...according to Gwem they taste like chicken, but supposedly I beg to differ.

Chicken, eh? And here I've been buying frozen chicken from Costco all this time, when I could've just been picking my nose.....dang it all!
I am laughing my butt off right now. That Gwen is too funny!!! And so are you. I just got a sewing machine. And I have all these wonderful plans on how to use it. But I went to JoAnne's the other day, and left after 45 minutes empty handed. There is too much to think about once you enter the craft world. I don't know if it's right for me. :)
Who is your blog that you stalk named Kalli Ko? She is funny. I just spent way too much time reading it.
Analness. So funny. !00% deep, right? Nate and I laugh about that all the time.
I love the quilt. You did such a great job! I'm excited to see the butterfly one for Gwennie.
Love the quilt!! Love the new blog header!!! Love exclamation points!!!
anality? Is that a word either?
boogers must taste like something good, because a lot of people sure eat them. Like the guy I saw at the stoplight the other day. Just because you're in your car doesn't mean I can't see you.
