We moved into the new house on May 26th. It's been crazy. We've been working (and by me, I mean Morgan, and anyone he can trick into helping) a ton. The fireplace was ripped up within the first few days, wallpaper has been coming down slowly but surely, and the hall bath was completely torn apart this past Wednesday. Nothing has been completed yet, but hopefully within the next month or two we'll be finished and I'll post some pictures.
We are really liking the house so far. There are a few weird things that we have discovered about the house that you never find out before you actually live there (like the family of munchkins that live under the stairs - I didn't know they came with the house. They help with entertaining Gwen though. She's taught them some new tricks.) No, but really we have found that the toilets are the loudest toilets in the planet. Sounds like a plane taking off every time we flush (hopefully that will be fixed with new toilets - there is something creepy about owning toilets where someone else's naked butt sat for 40 years. That's got to be changed). Morgan has to duck to shower in the master bathroom, and it's not much higher than my head, and I might be related to those munchkins under the stairs, I'm short. People must have been shorter in the 60's when the house was built. And we discovered that the cable/antenna cable for the basement runs in through the window in the master bathroom and down through the air vent. Um, what? I think the previous owner was weird. She and her family built the house, and she lived there up until we moved in. Needless to say, she was attached. Me not so much attached to the lace curtains, padded toilet seat covers, and frilly shower curtain (all which ended up in the garbage within the first half hour of moving in.
Anyway, we really are loving the house so far. Matt moved in this last week, and except for one night where Matt and Morgan both checked the house with their guns ready for shooting (at totally different times when the other wasn't home - I really think they are real twins - they are both sissies) every thing has been hunky dory. So, when some of the upgrades and done, you'll be seeing some pictures. Until then, just have some paciencia.
Right now, we are in Minnesota. We're here for Morgans brothers graduation from dental school. Yeah, free dental work for me from now on. We'll be home on Tuesday (my big older brothers birthday - Happy birthday Ty - he's 32, and old). We drove here...it took us 18 hours...non stop, except to get gas (both meanings of the phrase). Gwen did pretty well. I hate the drive and am dreading the drive home. Anyway, I meant for this to be a quick, short post, but it has turned into much more than that. I'm outta here.

Yay for moving in. I'll have to come see it next time we come up there! I'll just sleep with the munchkins under the stairs.
Tell Jared congrats from us and the rest of the family hi!
Good luck with the drive home. I kind of want to go to your house and flush the toilet just to hear what it sounds like.
I wish you would come to my house and do some major remodeling here. I can't wait to see you house when I am in Utah this summer.
it was good to see you guys when you were here. i wish that we had had more time to hang out while you were here and play more "smooth moves." we hope to visit you all in your new home one day. and...tell gwen to share her ants and boogers with those munchkins. btw, have you ever heard of that munchkin neighborhood in salt lake?
Maybe a couple of years ago in college with Matt, but not anymore.
You know what I'm talking about.
I have been waiting to hear about your house status~ Those pictures will be so exciting to see...
I can totally relate with remodeling, what a mess it totally is...and if you don't go through marriage counseling or get a divorce after all is said and done, you have done a great job!
Good luck!
When are you getting back??? We have NO WAY of communicating with you since you no longer have a phone, we have no clue where your new house is and Anderson lost Morgan's cell number. So please come back to us. Please make some sort of a gesture that you are alive and well.
Talia
The house work sounds like so much fun! I can't wait to see the transformation. Good luck with your drive home.
I'm with you - the thought of sitting on a toilet seat where someone else's backside sat for several years is simply disgusting. I think I will have a hard time buying an older home (if we ever move again and that's our only option).
Holy smokes it has been forever! YOu look great. How have you been? What a cute family you have. I found you through flipping through someone else's blog (I don't remember who's now ) Hope you are doing great! CUTE blog!
Kim
Hey lady! I came across your blog, and was so thrilled! How in the world are you doing? What a cute family you have. I also LOVE the work that you and your husband did on your house. You have been a busy woman. Great to see you again!
Oops. I wrote on your blog two times. Now I'll make it 3... :)
