1 and 4

February 13th was Laine's birthday. Her first birthday. We didn't have a party. Morgan and I went out for Valentines day instead. My mom felt bad for her, and made her a little cake. She wouldn't eat it. She touched it I think. Maybe tasted the frosting. She didn't get any presents from us.

Here she is.  See that rubber duck in her hand? It's a dog toy. My mom gave it to her for her birthday. She loves it. Laine has started "walking" (or taking steps on her own) and talks quite a bit. Head, eyes, bye bye, and hi are some of her favorite words.

Gwen's birthday was 5 days after Laine's. February 18th.

She got this booster seat. She's pretty excited about it. She picked it out herself.

Here she is in all of her birthday glory. Tiara and all. We didn't give her much. We left it up to the grandparents to do that.

Here are her cakes. She decorated them herself because I'm lazy and didn't do anything fancier. The less I have to do the better. The cake isn't even made from scratch. It's a plain old white cake mix. Delicious.
I'm an awesome mom.

Gwen and Laine on Gwen's birthday.
Gwen got the shower cap for her birthday too. She is so lucky.

You make me laugh. I hope one day I am like you and can completly ignore my children when they are too young to remember it anyway. I remember Addi's first was a huge blockbuster event. Did she care? Nope, hated her cake too. Maybe this one will cure me. I doubt it though.
Anyway, happy birthday gals! They both look so silly cute!

I love it, Kelle. Hope those girls had fun.

Reese keeps trying to open their birthday presents (which are still sitting on top of our piano, by the way). When I tell her no, it's Gwen and Laine's birthday she says "Reesie birthday, too???" I love birthdays. The most fun I ever had...

I'm going to keep the shower caps from every hotel I go to in the next year and send Gwen a box for her birthday. She'll love me.

And for Laine, I'm going to steal my friends dogs' toys. You're welcome, Laine.

thanks for what you said on our blog, i appreciate it. i have been feeling better knowing that now with the supplementing at least she's not starving. i'm still pumping throughout the day, hoping it will work, but if not then we will worry about really important things, like enjoying all our time with her! thanks again

Oh my gosh I almost died laughing. A dog toy and a shower cap. It's like your children are experiencing the depression all over again. Kelly, baby, I'll love you til the day I die. (Jessi Gleason)
