minnesota

We're leaving for Minnesota on Thursday. I know you're all jealous of the 20 hour drive we have ahead of us. I, however, am not. Morgan and I have made this drive a million times. Gwen has a couple of times (once in my belly at 7 months pregnant on the road trip from hell). This is Lanie's first time. Laine hates the car, and because of that, I am completely and utterly dreading this trip. Gwen will be fine. With the amazing hypnotizing power of the DVD player, Gwen will sit transfixed for the majority of time watching movies and occasionally screaming for candy or to go potty. Laine will cry for hours until I illegally breastfeed her in the backseat, while Morgan drives (I'm not about to stop, 20 hours is long enough, who wants to stop the car every 3 hours to feed your baby...NOT I). Morgan and Matt (thank the Lord he's coming. Now I won't have to drive) will rotate driving, sleeping, and reading dragon books. I will sit and and get trucker butt (when your butt goes numb from sitting too long...you all didn't know it had a name did you?) and will attempt to sleep...although with Laine crying and having to change the movie every 1.5 hours or so, I don't think that will be happening. After the drive, we will stay in MN for a little over a week, and when the week is up, we'll get back in the car and do it all over again. Oh Yay! I'm so excited.

Ooh. I am not jealous of you at all. And what is it with those two and their weird sci-fi/fantasy books. I don't get it.

At least you don't have to drive!

oh no! Van hated the car too. It was dreadful. Thank goodness in New York we don't drive much because man, it would totally stress me out.

Maybe after 6-7 hours she'll figure out the screaming is futile and go to sleep.

Good luck.

Yep, totally jealous that you will have trucker butt and not me.

You are a crack-up! I laughed through the whole post!

Wow, sounds like a blast. Can I come along next time? Good luck, maybe you'll get lucky and it will be the perfect drive with your little girls acting like angels!!! Have fun!

And you thought trunks were for luggage. Kids fare pretty well in them also.

you are brave. And guess what? I am in Utah right now. I go home on June 5th. So call me when you get back. We can let our naughty little girls get into some trouble.

YOU ARE BRAVE! I was gonna make the ten hour drive to Utah next week but I decided my big preggo body couldn't take all that driving so I splurged for airline tickets that I will be paying off on my credit card for the next 20 years!

i don't know if i got the story of how it went on your drive here, and i don't think i finished telling you how izzy did on our recent roadtrip. oh well.

your kids are still alive, so i imagine it was better than you thought. it was really good to see you all. i'm more excited to move out to utah now, since we can hang out more than once a year (and competing over t.v. and stanley boy talking).
