guess i'll go eat worms
On the way to Gwens preschool the other day Gwen said to me "Mom, the kids at school don't like you." "The kids at my school don't like Gwen's mommy." I laughed, but secretly cried. Why don't they like me? Why? Maybe Gwen is already becoming embarrassed by me like I was embarrassed by my mom when I was younger (although I highly doubt it. She's way too outgoing...it's more likely that I'll be embarrassed by her). Gwen will start having nightmares about me coming to school and embarrassing her - like I did about my mom. The night before I started Jr. High I had a nightmare that my mom came to my schoool dressed in a black garbage bag with holes cut out for her head and arms, high heels duct taped to her feet and holding a bouquet of pencils. I guess you could say I was a bit worried to start jr. high. But then again, remember this picture of me in 7th grade? I think I had a reason to worry.

don't be sad. although that 7th grade pic was epic. almost as bad as mine. i'm sure the kids in my kid's preschool (when he gets there) will say the same thing about me since i probably will be still in sweatpants dropping him off.
What the hell, Gwennie? It's not like your mom wears moon boots and sponge curlers to drop you off! Or beats you with hangers!
LOL.....I love how she broke the news to you, too. "Yeah mom, pretty much everyone hates you!" Kids are so funny.
Did you really have that nightmare? It must've had an impact on you to remember it after all these years!
You're lucky that you only dreamed your mom came to Jr. High just to embarass you. Jevan's mom actually came to school dressed up like Father Time with the express purpose of embarassing him in front of his class....or so he tells me...
I am seriously crying I am laughing so hard. That was an AWESOME post. I made Jason come and read it. And he even got a good chuckle out of it. First, Gwen was making me laugh, but then the picture. . . ahhhh, that really hit home. I love you! LOL!!!!
What the crap Gwen! I swear I would just tell her, "No, sweetie, they like me, they just dont want to be YOUR friend" That will teach her. I have never heard of your intense fear of your mother embarassing you. I will be the one that makes my kids squirm and I cant wait! I am going to remember the outfit and duplicate it for halloween next year!
Remember that "Ben" kid in elementary who wore "garbage pants" to school? He was awesome!
all the kids loved my mom because she came to school do a show-n-tell on making egg rolls. if that doesn't make you popular, i don't know what will.
Hey I still like you! Aren't you due soon?!!! Are you getting excited?
